Mobile Data Solutions: iiS SURVEY FOR POCKET PC
The iiS Survey for Pocket PC system consists of integrated tools for both hand-held and PC computers. iiS Survey for Pocket PC runs on pen-driven Pocket PC computers such as the Compaq IPAQ ®; the PC end of the software runs on any Windows PC (Windows 95 or later). iiS Survey for Pocket PC is fully configurable, meaning surveys can be designed from scratch, or re-configured in the field (data values not in survey spec. can be added by surveyor). Pocket PC also comes pre-configured with several commonly-required surveys, including:
n IT Asset Tracking
n Life Cycle Replacement Costs
n Physical Comms Check (data, voice, power, etc.)
n Work Instructions
iiS Survey for Pocket PC’s PC application provides for rapid download and review of survey data. Data can be reviewed and adjusted on the PC, and then ported to database applications such as Help Desk & More, or saved as Microsoft Access ® or Excel ® data.
One powerful aspect of the iiS Survey for Pocket PC environment is that listboxes can be defined in advance of the survey, to ensure data integrity. This means that if several surveyors are working at the same time, any categorisation values will be from the same pre-determined set.
